Henry and Al Koetje opened Koetje Insurance in 1947, then merged Koetje Insurance with Leavitt Group Northwest in 2012. Joining Leavitt Group allowed them to remain local, while adding nationally recognized companies and a wealth of insurance resources. This means they can provide comprehensive coverage with competitive pricing. For many years their office has been involved in the community, and they take pride in their local connections. Over the past 30 years their employees have held positions on the board of directors for the Oak Harbor & Coupeville Chambers of Commerce, Soroptimist International and various other community organizations. They also regularly volunteer at their neighborhood schools and in the community events. To date, they have donated over 3,700 books to local students to encourage family time and reading.
